In part 1, I talked about the need for a group devotional study for women like Losing It. If you missed part one, you can read it here. Now that you know the why, here’s the what and how. Here’s what starting and going through the study with your group might look like.
During your first group meeting, you will have a girl’s night, cook a meal together, or participate in some type of fellowship activity. The activity is up to you. The first week is about getting to know each other, going over the group expectations, and previewing the following weeks.
In week 2, you will begin with a “bonding moment” or icebreaker activity. Why is it called a bonding moment? Simply because I thought it might make you laugh. These activities will help you get to know each other better, which will help you feel more comfortable sharing with the group.
Each week you will pray for each member of the group before beginning your study.
Scripture & Discussion
After the prayer, you will read that week’s scripture and discussion.
Steps to Losing It
At the end of the study, you will read and complete the Steps to Losing It. These are practical steps to take in order to help you give all areas of your life to Christ. Some of the steps will be completed individually and some are group efforts. For example, you will be asked to write down what your daily schedule would look like in order to make God the first priority in your day. You will have the opportunity to share your new schedule with the group. The group will hold you accountable to implementing your new schedule. What if you are already putting God first? We all have room for improvement.
I will offer a free Start Losing It kit on the Losing It page. It will have a FAQs section, in case you have further questions about getting a group started.
If you have any comments/questions or would like to begin a Losing It group, please send me a message or email me at email@example.com. I will give away free copies and would love to give your group the study for free in exchange for your honest reviews and experiences. I would appreciate your thoughts in the comments!
